Announcing Rotovision - Real-time Video Stabilization Software

Rotovision eliminates flight-induced vibration and shakes from eye-in-the-sky video; even removes jitter from long zoom lens

NEW ORLEANS, La., October 15, 2007 – Rotomotion, LLC announced today immediate availability of Rotovision, a real-time video stability program for turnkey Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) ground control systems. Rotovision processes the incoming video from a camera located on a UAV to produce a smoother object, or target, which is being viewed on a laptop-based ground control system, potentially miles away. The Rotovision product compares and normalizes objects within each video frame against the same object in adjacent video frames to eliminate the vibration motion captured by the camera, substantially improving the smoothness and quality of the video. The announcement was made during the 114th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in New Orleans.

Rotovision costs $2,500 for a single license and $5,000 for an unlimited use license for customers with multiple ground control stations. Rotomotion designs and manufactures a range of autonomous Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) UAV products that are controlled with their autonomous flight control system (AFCS). Rotomotions breakthrough AFCS delivers unrivaled stability and smoothness for both flying and  hovering (critical for aerial photography and video capture), increased ease of use and reduced training times for operators and dramatically lower costs than other VTOL UAVs available for purchase. Rotor-based crafts are inherently unstable aircraft, requiring continuous monitoring and input to maintain position or flight plan. Rotomotion’s AFCS eliminates the manual intervention required to stabilize the craft due to changes in weight, wind speed, and wind direction.

"We were very pleased with Rotomotion’s Rotovision software. Not only was it simple to install and use, the improvement in the quality of the video will make a huge difference in the ROI of these products. We are one of the earliest adopters of UAVs for commercial use and the results from Rotovision will enhance our efforts in providing aerial photography for the real estate and construction industries," stated Mr. David Dilling, president, Elevated, Inc.

"All of our customers benefit from this vastly improved video stability," said Dennis D'Annunzio, president and CEO of Rotomotion, LLC, "Of course, law enforcement and the military will see superior results with a stabilized target, making it easier to track or monitor. But emerging civil markets that are just now deploying VTOL UAVs, such as bridge and utility infrastructure inspection and search & rescue will really benefit from an up-close, stationary object in the video."
